Lely High School7

Naples, FL | Collier County

April 6, 2014

I graduated Lely in 2012. I am currently enrolled at a Four Year University. Lely is a melting pot of culture and diversity which is what I loved about going there. Lely is severely lacking in its faculty. The base of education. On countless times, I would have teachers (in honors and AP classes) who would hand out worksheets to fill out and color instead of providing hands-on learning opportunities or discussion that encourage student participation and involvement. If the teacher is not passionate about the job, what will motivate the student to reach academic success? I had positive experiences with the athletics and extracurriculars. The parents were involved, and the spirit and unity of our school was always booming with pride. That was the highlight of my four years spent at the school. Looking back, the diversity of Lely was a huge positive, essential to my growth and development. It is what makes me the person that I am today.

If you want your child to have a chance in life then stay well away from here, I've attended for a couple days now and this place is a school in name only, in reality it is a circus, i have yet to see a teacher actually teach anything and the students couldn't care less about school. the only way to fix this place would be to kick everyone out and start over entirely.

I went to Lely from 1975 to1977 and I thought that it was a great school ! I wasn't one of the "popular" kids and the staff showed me that this wasn't the most important thing in life--it really made a difference to me. GO LELY---LELY ROCKS !

There are a lot of really good teachers here that care about the students. There are a lot of really good kids here. There is a great school spirit. As a parent moving to this area I had concerns about the diversity of the school. It seemed intimidating at first. Don't let that fool you. The kids that want to learn are learning. Advanced placement classes and honors classes are available. My child has enjoyed going here. It is a fun place to learn.

Horrible school, I would list every reason but I don't believe cyberspace contains enough data space for the amount of failure that school can sum up. There are many teachers who teach well, know their information, and overall should be listened to but many things have inhibit their ability to teach. It's complicated and anyone who says they love the school obviously took the path of least resistance or graduated during a different time period.

This school is amazing! I am a current student and proud to say it. For those who say Lely is bad, I have a few questions for you: Have you ever stepped inside the school? Have you ever spent a week at Lely? Are you too close-minded to see past all the cameras and bad press and what not? Because this school, once you become part of lely and step inside our world, you'll never want to leave. 'learning for all...whatever it takes'-Lely High School Motto. Go Trojans!

Lely certainly rises far higher than its reputation has many believe. Many teachers are some of the most highly qualified in the county, with AP passing rates reflective of the success. There are plenty of extracurriculars and courses available to students, and the socioeconomic diversity of the students more closely mirrors the 'real world' than the other Collier County schools. This unique situtation provides both a great window of opportunity for students of lesser backgrounds to catch up and get ahead and a chance for more well-off students to understand and work with the students of financial hardship. However, students have Lely unfortunately must learn quickly which teachers and courses to avoid and which departments have strengths and weaknesses. It has its faults, but overall I d have a hard time recommending any other Collier County school over Lely, perhaps only Naples High matching both its diversity and opportunities.

If i coould give Lely more stars i would, because it is the best school in Collier County and there is no doubt about that! When i attended Lely it felt like i was part of one big family. The teachers and administration care and the students have a ton of school spirit...Go Lely!

I attended Lely High during '96-00. I was very involved in school and enjoyed attending Lely. I graduated from Lely and went on to College and majored in Elementary Education. Due to my excellent experience her, I choose to become and educator as well.

I have had two children graduate from Lely High School the last five years. Both of my children have gone to state universities to graduate with their bachelors. I currently have one child working on their masters. This is a great school!
